On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to the beautiful city of Perth for the 23rd Australian Orthodontic Congress from Friday 10th – Tuesday 14th February 2012.
Western Australia returns as the host state for the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) biennial scientific meeting after an absence of ten years. Now a true business centre in the Australasian region and still one of the friendliest and cleanest cities in the world, Perth provides a first class location for the premier Orthodontic event in Australia for 2012.
The theme for the congress is “Setting Things Straight” which acknowledges a scientific programme designed to provide a close examination of current evidence-based clinical practice, scrutinize new orthodontic technologies and re-examine the recurrent orthodontic controversies in light of contemporaneous scientific research. We have invited a stellar cast of renowned international and national speakers and have prepared a stimulating programme of wide appeal, promising to satisfy all areas of scientific and clinical interest across our speciality. The main program will stretch over five days and will include an exciting new pre-congress concept – Technology Day, which is included in full registrations for Orthodontists and auxiliary staff.
As usual, the social programme promises to be a highlight of the meeting with special events to be held in Kings Park and at the Royal Perth Yacht Club. Of course, no congress would be complete without the black tie Gala Dinner which will be held in stunning BelleVue Ballroom overlooking the Swan River at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Also as a new innovation, we will be hosting a Post Congress Day at the five-star Bunker Bay Resort in the magnificent Margaret River wine region. This provides an excellent opportunity to extend your stay after the main Congress and take your partner to enjoy the delights of this beautiful and soulful region right at the zenith of the balmy South-Western Australian summer.
AOC Perth 2012 will provide you with a unique professional and social experience. What better opportunity to network and relax with colleagues and also explore the buzzing city of Perth and the great state of Western Australia? I look forward to greeting you all for this exciting event. See you in February!
