INVITATION

On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the 23rd Australian Orthodontic Congress, to be held in Perth, Western Australia from 10th to 14th February 2012 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

After the enormous success of the 2010 International Orthodontic meeting in Sydney, it is now time to “look west” for the Australian Society of Orthodontists biennial scientific meeting. Perth returns as the host city for this event after an absence of ten years. In this time, Western Australia has been the boom state of Australia. Visitors returning to Perth will be amazed to see how our city has grown and continues to mature on the back of our agricultural and resource industries. Now a true business centre in the Australasian region and still one of the friendliest and cleanest cities in the world, Perth provides a first class location for the 23rd Australian Orthodontic Congress.

The theme for Perth 2012 is “Setting Things Straight” with the main program stretching over five days, including a pre-congress Technology Day.  The scope of the Congress is to not just examine our evidence-based treatment methodologies circa 2012, but also scrutinize orthodontic diagnostic procedures/technologies and re-examine the recurrent orthodontic controversies in light of contemporaneous scientific research. An impressive contingent of distinguished international and national speakers have been invited to speak in Perth and will present on breakthrough topics with progressive thinking.

In a new innovation, we will be hosting a Post Congress Day in the magnificent Margaret River wine region. Three international “gurus” of our profession and one very special local guest speaker have been earmarked for this event to be held at the five star Bunker Bay Resort.  So why not extend your stay after the Congress, bring your family, and take the time to enjoy this beautiful and soulful region deep in the South West corner of Australia? Renown for world class wineries, gourmet food, big wave surfing and some of the most stunning beaches and coastal landscapes in the world the region is a “must see” for any traveller to Western Australia.
